During my residency at The Mediterranean Centre of Photography, I made friends with a Moroccan family. As my French was fairly awful, I offered photography workshops for the children in exchange for informal french lessons. Sami, the mother of the family, understood how it felt to struggle with French as she moved to Corsica when she was a child. She was so patient kind and I spent many an afternoon drinking mint tea, helping the kids with their english homework and teaching the kids how to use an old Russian, mechanical Lubitel TLR camera. I developed the films in the darkroom (edited some a little in photoshop) and here are some of the results.
